Iceland
Join me on a virtual journey to Iceland, where I had the privilege of embarking on a remarkable adventure with my dearest friend, Romain. To this day, Iceland remains the most extraordinary place I have ever visited. Our two-week escapade took us around the entire island in a rented campervan, granting us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The scenery was simply breathtaking; while the waterfalls were undeniably beautiful, it was the untouched coastline, majestic mountains, icy glaciers, active volcanoes, and mesmerizing lava flows that truly captivated our souls. The highlight of our trip, however, were the secluded hikes where we found ourselves alone, surrounded only by the wonders of nature.
If you're planning a visit to this enchanting land, I have a few recommendations. Firstly, opt for a van rental despite the cost, as it will be your sole expense on the island. The ability to travel on your own terms and adapt to the ever-changing weather is truly priceless. Secondly, if you choose to explore the main road, consider traveling counter-clockwise. This way, you'll encounter the crowds of tourists in the southeastern region from Reykjavik first, allowing you to relish the serenity that follows. Lastly, don't forget to pack a rain jacket!
