Still Waters, Tied Souls
I explored the stark contrast between nature’s untamed wildness and the deliberate restraint of ropes—each rope both a boundary and an invitation. Water, serene and still, carries an unsettling duality—offering calm in one moment, yet becoming a silent threat when the body is tied. When the ability to reach the surface is taken away, the water shifts from a place of weightlessness to an unrelenting force, indifferent to whether you rise or sink.
Through my work, I captured the raw, unfiltered emotions that emerged in these moments—joy and discomfort, vulnerability and fear, strength and surrender. I pushed my models to shed the masks imposed by society, to embrace their truest selves within the confines of restriction.
In this space between control and powerlessness, something raw is revealed—something that cannot be faked or hidden.
Thank you Stefanie, Charly, Katia, Cari, Yentl, Matilda, Luna, and Annie. These moments together were beautiful, not only because we created wonderful pictures but because each of them was a lot of fun. I deeply cherish the trust you placed in me by letting me tie you in the lake—and endure my playful bullying in the process.
